If You Notice Damage

Important: Claims Are Filed With Your Carrier

Claims are filed directly with the carrier who handled your move, not with Safe Ship. We'll provide you with the carrier's claims contact information and document everything internally to review the carrier's service.

File Your Claim With the Carrier

Contact your carrier directly using the claims information we provide. Submit all required documentation to them.

Carrier Processes Your Claim

The carrier will review your claim and documentation. Typical processing time is 60-90 days.

Filing a Claim With Your Carrier

Standard Cargo Coverage

All moves include standard cargo liability coverage:

$0.60 per pound per item (up to $10,000 total)

Example: A 50-pound damaged item would be covered for up to $30 (50 lbs × $0.60/lb)

Important Deadlines

Claims must be filed with the carrier within 9 months of delivery
Typical carrier processing time: 60-90 days

Original purchase price, replacement cost, or current market value
